Guest Speaker: Christian Ricco

Christian Ricco, an artist from Milwaukee, visited Pathways during the Arts, A/V, and Communication career cluster. He spoke about his career and explained that, "Life as an artist is figuring out how to be a problem solver." He advised students to not "...discount the connections you make now. You never know when you are going to bump into that person in the future." Finally, Christian gave advice to students who are interested in at. He said to go see the art that's being communicated by others right now.

Guest Speaker- Craig Farrell

Craig Farrell, Executive Director of the West Bend Chamber of Commerce, joined students to speak about the hospitality and tourism opportunities of the greater West Bend area. Mr. Farrell highlighted the one trillion dollar industry in US by pointing out how our local area earns slices of that pie. He pointed out the geocaching opportunities around here (There are over 1300 geocache sites in West Bend!), and used that as an example of tourism in our area. Above all, Mr. Farrell gave the students the following advice: "If you love your job, you'll never work!"

Editor's Note

The Pathways Blog Team with guest speaker Cindee Mennig.
From the left: Austin Kosmatka, Cindee Mennig, Kiera Fisher, Adam Fehring.
As the school year came to an end, Pathways' Blog Team was busy trying to complete projects as well as posts from the prior year. At one point, I tried to get the Blog Team together to get them to work on a post. One student said, "I want to, but I really need to work on completing this project that is due next week."

I am so grateful to the blog team of Adam Fehring, Austin Kosmatka, and Kiera Fisher for their hard work throughout the year, but especially for all the extra skills they learned such as how to prioritize their time, take photos of a guest speaker, interview, work collaboratively, etc.

Some of the posts the team started, but did not finish due to time constraints. These posts will be updated and posted throughout the summer as time allows.

If you see any of the above Pathways Blog Team, be sure to congratulate them on a job well done!
